Benjamin Horne (TP) goes crazy and thinks he is a Confederate general when he loses the Ghostwood property, Leland Palmer (TP) goes crazy when he becomes Bob (it can be argued that it is Bob who is acting crazy), Doctor Will Hayward goes crazy when Benjamin Horne reveals that he is Hayward's daughter Donna's biological father and kills or knocks him unconscious, George Anderson (PP) (who looks like Palmer) goes crazy when his daughter Betty (who looks like Horne's daughter) runs away to New York City, and an ancestor of Roger Collins (DS) goes crazy when he is put under a spell and thinks he is the dead Collinwood butler.
The most pronounced similarity of crazy fathers in either series is that between Leland Palmer of Twin Peaks and Paul Stoddard of Dark Shadows.
