Hell In An Easter Basket

Quentin Collins enters the other-dimensional Stopping Off Place to rescue Amanda Harris by way of navigating a dark hellish passage filled with nightmares and strobing white lights. He fails to rescue her and awakes on the forest floor. (DS)

Agent Cooper enters the other-dimensional Red Waiting Room to rescue Annie Blackburn by way of navigating the hellish Black Lodge filled with his worst nightmares and strobing white lights. He fails to exit without losing his soul to the incubus Bob and is replaced by his doppleganger which emerges from the Black Lodge asleep on the forest floor. (TP)

Cooper's descent into the Black Lodge on the night of Easter Sunday is representative of the myth of Christ's journey into Hell in the Passion Play of Twin Peaks. A denizen of the Red Waiting Room, formerly of the Black Lodge which features strobing white lights, is Philip Gerard the One-Armed Man played by actor Al Strobel.
