A Heart Necklace is a huge dramatic element in Twin Peaks. Carolyn's appearance and character are similar to that of Laura Palmer, and Michael's motivations could be seen as similar to those of Bob. When Windom Earle killed his wife, Agent Cooper's love Caroline, he punctured her aorta with a knife. The Palmers have a heart shaped wreath on their front door in Fire Walk With Me.
The Arm and Michael are both played by actors named Michael.
