Washed Up List of Credits

The intro sequence to Twin Peaks features a waterfall.
The closing sequence to Peyton Place features a waterfall.
The intro sequence to Dark Shadows features waves crashing on rocks.

Water in terms of the Passion Play of Twin Peaks, seen frequently in shots of waterfalls, rivers, lakes, and human tears in the series, may represent the myth of the compunction of the Virgin Mary, Jesus turning water into wine, Jesus walking on water, and most significantly Baptism. Interestingly and probably not coincidentally, the only time we see a character in Twin Peaks fully or partially immersed in water is when they are dead, and in the case of Shelly Johnson who washes her hair in the kitchen sink, her life is suddenly threatened immediately after and her fate unknown at the climax of the first season.
